Fall Internship Oportunity
The Phoenix Convention Center & Venues is seeking PR interns for the Fall 2011 semester.
Interns will have the opportunity to work with the Communications Director to assist with promoting our convention, meeting and theatrical facilities while learning about the tourism, hospitality and government industries.
College Juniors, Seniors or Grad students with creative ideas, experience with social media, strong writing skills and knowledge of AP Style are encouraged to apply. An interest in the hospitality industry and previous PR internship experience is a plus.
Duties include writing news releases, proofreading/editing, writing Web copy, research and organizing news clips & PR files.
Interns should be available for a minimum of 12 to a maximum of 20 hours a week. Schedule is flexible and can be coordinated around classes; however, interns need to be able to work at least two days a week. This internship is scheduled to begin in Fall 2011 but if a student is available to start during the summer that would be considered.
This is an unpaid internship. Convention Center PR Interns obtain real world work experience to enhance their resume while earning college credit. Upon successful completion of the internship, our interns will receive a letter of recommendation and references.
Interested students should forward their resume and a writing sample to Cynthia Weaver, Phoenix Convention Center Communications Director, at cynthia.weaver@phoenix.gov.
